Arabia Saudí y los Emiratos Árabes Unidos han asegurado sus plazas en la final de la Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup de este año, pero fue Austria quien triunfó en el tramo inaugural de la serie en Abu Dabi. Los saudíes, bajo la dirección del nuevo Chef d'Equipe David Will, y la nación anfitriona, los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, se llevaron los dos puestos de clasificación regionales para la final, donde habrá una plaza en juego en París 2024. El equipo de Austria, bajo la dirección del Chef d'Equipe Gerfried Puck, llegó primero de las seis naciones en lo que es un punto culminante de la Copa Presidente de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos de Saltos. Austria venció a Gran Bretaña, liderada por Di Lampard, en un emocionante desempate después de dos rondas de saltos. Junto a los medallistas de plata británicos en el podio estaba el equipo de Irlanda, que ganó el evento de la Copa de Naciones de los EAU en 2021, y está dirigido por Michael Blake. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have secured their places at this year’s Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final, but it was Austria who triumphed at the series' opening leg in Abu Dhabi. The Saudis, under new Chef d’Equipe David Will, and host nation UAE took the two regional qualification spots for the final, where a Paris 2024 place will be up for grabs. Team Austria, under the direction of Chef d’Equipe Gerfried Puck, came first out of the six nations at what is a highlight of the President of the United Arab Emirates Showjumping Cup. Austria beat out Great Britain, led by Di Lampard, in a nail-biting jump off after two rounds of Jumping. Joining the British silver medalists on the podium were Team Ireland, who won the UAE Nations Cup event in 2021, and are guided by Michael Blake. Fourth place this weekend went to Saudi Arabia, followed by the United Arab Emirates, led by Ahmed Al Junaibi, and the Syrian Arab Republic, whose Chef d’Equipe is Billy Twomey.
